Loving Me Some Fast Food...

I have to say that I have never been a big fan of McDonald's...
My fast food fav has been Subway for quite a few years now.

Then, McDonald's updated their menu to include calories.
Gotta say that scored some points in my book.

I now have multiple options on eating fast food that won't conflict with my shrinking waist line...
There are multiple 6" subs at Subway...
And don't get me started on their Chopped Salad!
Yum!
But my family can only eat so much Subway.

So with the calories posted at McDonald's, I know that I can eat their Chicken Bacon Ranch Salad (sub the Ranch for Vinaigrette) and be good to go.
Definitely helps that it tastes good too.

Breakfast - I am definitely a Subway Gal!!!
Then, McDonald's psychically got my wish for egg whites on the breakfast menu...
I have to say that the Egg White Delight McMuffin is amazing for 250 calories!
Sorry Subway, but they are giving you a run on my breakfast crave...

Now, if McDonald's would come up with a sandwich alternative that I can enjoy...
And Subway would bring back my avocado (and some different veggies!)...
Sending psychic waves!

Namaste.

**McDonald's and Subway had nothing to do with this post.
I like it, so I wrote about it.

The Battle

Over the last year, I started having an unwelcomed visitor...
Anxiety.

For the most part, I knew what was causing the battles, just not how to deal.
I was getting tired of fighting the battle daily, so I got myself some help.
Attempted to get my head on straight, well straighter anyway.

And I started to win...
Some of the time.
Then, most of the time.

Then, there is today...
I got into another battle and to be honest, I have no idea why.
Not sure what caused this battle...
Not sure what to do to make it all go away...

And I must say, it's pretty damn depressing.

Welcoming a little girl...

This is one of the projects that I recently got done.
It was a baby shower gift for a little girl who will be arriving soon!
UPDATE:
I had this post in draft mode from the phone.
Before I could get to a computer to post, she arrived last Friday!

Her mommy had picked out light pink and light gray for her nursery, so I went with that color scheme.
I love the look of the light gray fleece on the back!
It doesn't quite look like a "baby" blanket, but I think it will grow with her through the years.

For a special little boy...

It is a little late,  but I finally got my grandbaby's baby blanket done.

I love the look!
(Lion King was the inspiration behind the fabrics)

It was the first quilt that I backed with fleece...
I don't think that I'll make another one without it.

Good Week!

After a few disappointing weight loss weeks,  I was happy to get a good number this week!

I got to bid 3.2lbs away.
So long,  farewell...

17 to go.

A Me Day

Well,  not really.
I did take the day to get some stuff off of my to do list,  but nothing was specifically for me.
Was nice to not spend a vacation day in the grocery store or the doctor's office.
I can't share the details yet (its a secret until the boxes are opened), but I am definitely taking pictures to post later!
Now to get some packages in the mail. . .

Changes

There once was a blogger who needed accountability...
She blogged when she worked out…
If she worked out, she had to blog.
If she blogged, she had to workout (and yes, even if it meant being at the gym at 11pm).
If she didn’t blog and didn’t blog and didn’t blog… she probably heard about it.

Yes, I was that blogger and that was the beginning of this blog.
It worked well… for ~80 lbs.

Then, I got a family and priorities changed and the blog was no longer tied to the gym.
Kinda hard to keep them together when I don’t live near a gym anymore.

I am not going back to the blog when I exercise.
I'd rather spend the time exercising or rocking the grand baby...

But I am back on the health bandwagon.  Trying to move more (love the fitbit!) and eat better.
Primarily because, I found some (a lot) of the 80 that I lost before and I didn’t really want to.

On February 4th, I put a stake in the ground in my iPhone app and then a few weeks later - got rid of the iPhone.  My new Android app won’t let me go back in time to put a past weight in and I can't seem to remember it from memory…
So, I am documenting the not so pretty numbers here to reduce memory strain.
As of today, I have lost 24 lbs (this time around).  I have 20.8 lbs to go.
I can't decide if I am going to count how much I lost (feels like it is focusing more on the weight that I want to forget about) or how much I have to go.  I'm putting both out there right now, but I might switch to one or the other later.Namaste.

Just a Reading...

I love to read. . .
LOVE it!

Haven't done near the reading that I used to...
A thing called life got in the way.

In 2012, I tried to kick-start the one book a month idea.
I did get 12ish in, though it definitely wasn't one per month.

That did get me back into the mode of reading, but I tend to "reread" old favorites or pick up a mindless, quick read.

I am going to target 12 mindful reads this year.

I am off to a good start...
The hardest part is finding mindful books that don't bore me to tears.

1. Lips Unsealed:  A Memoir by Belinda Carlisle
2. Between a Heart and a Rock Place:  A Memoir by Pat Benator
3. Put on Your Crown:  Life Changing Moments on the Path to Queendom  by Queen Latifa
4. Get Out of Debt Like the Debt Heroes:  How 21 Ordinary People Paid Off Over $1.7 Million in Debt by Ben Edwards and Jeff Rose (starting to appreciate my Kindle app - but this one did bore me quite a bit)
5. Surviving Septermber 11th by Dan Holdridge (starting to appreciate my Kindle app)
6.
7.
8.
9.
10.
11.
12.

Love It!

My darling husband did good for Valentine’s Day.

No, I did not get flowers or candy or jewelry.
I got a fitbit one.

J

Yes, I’m a little on the crazy side, but it was a GREAT gift for me.

Since then, I found a good deal and got one for him.

To put it mildly, a “friendly” competition has begun in our house.
It didn’t take long – I think I got in an “I’ve beat you” as I was going to bed on Day 1 only to hear the elliptical start-up while I was laying in bed reading.

Anything to get us moving.
Let the games begin.

I'm Trying...

I have been getting all of these great blog topics / pictures / items and they fizzle before I can get them on a computer…
Yes, I know – excuses, excuses.

I have found that I don’t care for the Android Blogger app as much as I liked the iPhoneone, so I tend to shy away from using it.

Our laptop is no more, which is how I used to blog the most.
So, I can only blog during my lunch (which I either don’t get or try to spend getting up and moving) or in MBB’s office.

Yeah, not much blogging going on.

So, I am going to try to figure out how to make the app work better…
And I’m hoping that we get a new laptop soon!

And, now that I think about it, I am hoping to have my craft computer set up soon – which will let me post more about my renewed creative output.

Yeah, I know how excited that makes everyone!

Namaste.

Really?

Hmmmm....

Lose some weight...

Go to buy a new piece of clothing at Meijer...
Just to realize that they think someone with my new size only spends time in clubs.

Sorry,  but my employer would not look kindly on a hot pink bra showing through my tops!

Seriously...
