Happy Thanksgiving!

On this day of Lasagna and Apple Pie (in our house, at least), I wanted to take a moment to give thanks and wish everyone a wonderful Thanksgiving.

Namaste.

Remembering: Inspiration Speakers

I get to hear inspirational speakers quite often in my job.
A LOT of them.
I am known to tweet out quotes from their speeches that I want to hang on to...

And a few stay in my mind, my memories and challenge me to think.
So, I decided to spotlight a few here...
Google them - it's worth it!

Remembering: Blessings

I am thankful that I get to do what I do for a living (and have for seven years now).
I am thankful that I work for a company who empowers me to help others.
I am thankful that I (am told that) make a difference.

I believe that we need to give everyone a hand up, not a hand out.
I believe that everyone should get an equal opportunity to compete.
I believe that we can all make a difference.

Some days, I struggle - but would life be worth living if I didn't?
Some days, I don't want to get out of bed - but I do.
Some days, I wonder if I am making a difference.

And as my major work event comes to a close today, I am so blessed that I am able to be a part of it.
To the ~1,500 attendees - Thank you.
To the speakers - Thank you.
To my team members - Thank you.

Namaste.

#FridayFinds - Yala Kol

It came to our attention recently that we have gotten into a rut when it comes to restaurants.  We eat the same things over and over (whether it is what I cook or where we frequent).

So, we are trying to try some ne
w places.
First up - MBB wanted to find a good Gyro.

I did some searches and found: Yala Kol
It had good reviews (4.3 with 120 reviews) and some comments raved on the Gyro...

Hummus
Both MBB and I enjoyed, though I have to admit
that our other Mediterranean restaurant keeps the #1 title here.

Chicken Shawarma w/ Rice
Huge portions - half of mine went in a box.

Gyro
NOTE: The sauce is a little different than traditional.
Overall, this is probably a repeat as MBB was happy with the Gyro.
I thought that the Chicken was very flavorful and the rice was different (in a good way, except for the lima beans!).

Namaste.
