It's Growing!

Last week, the weather called for four days straight of rain. . .
We bought the straw.
We bought the grass seed.
MBB (with a little help from me before I did a sport run) spread the straw.
MBB (with some help from OB) spread the seed.

And. . .

No Rain.
No Rain.
No Rain.

So, we started running the sprinklers.

And. . .

We are starting to get some grass!

Growing Grass or New Bed?

We put down straw to grow some grass, but the dogs think we gave them a new bed.
Especially Rockstar!

I Experimented!

I read this post and decided to try the experiment.
Granted, I did not do it on a Friday. . .

My changes on it:
My crust was Crescent Roll doughs.
I used Ranch on the inside for MBB and MaBell. OB and mine didn't have any sauce in them.
I used fat-free butter spray on the crust instead of oil and then sprayed it again as soon as it came out of the oven.
We had LaRosa's Sauce on the side for everyone (but me) to dip the calzone in.
It was deemed a repeat by the family!

New Ride

I got to pick up my new car today. . .
It's been a long four months since I ordered it. . .
I am now the proud owner of a new dark gray Matrix!
My one complaint - what happened to the back quarter window???Namaste.

Being Neighborly. . .

A few of our neighbors came a visiting recently.
Usually, there is only one way to get them to go home - Rockstar.

After I took this picture, we realized that there is a second way - the flash on my camera.

And It Has Begun!

Yes, I'm guilty - The date of this post isn't the date that I posted it, but the day I took the pictures.
I'm dating my posts as if I was efficient and posted as things happened. hehe

MBB and I could not be there this year for the "getting on the bus for the first day of school". I thought about going into work late, but with MaBell having a Volleyball Game that evening, I just couldn't move my hours.

So, we created a new tradition: First Day of School Family Breakfast.
We all got up a little bit early and sat down for Biscuits and Gravy. . . A family favorite.
OB's opinion of the morning: "You won't be here for us to get on the bus tomorrow either!"
Nice try, but no. . .lol
It was nice to start the school year together.
It wasn't so nice being up until 11:00 that night doing homework.
Yep, first day of school and MaBell stayed up late and then got up at 4:30 to finish it.

That Day Happened?

In previous years, I would create a special post for my birthday, but this year. . .
Yeah well, didn't happen.

I did take the day off of work, which is a tradition of mine in recent years.
I did exercise (great workout on the Wii!).
I played some games with the kids.
I did some serious grocery shopping - don't ask. lol

The day was good.

MBB took me to dinner at my favorite restaurant (hadn't been there in over two years!).
He got me a great gift!
Unfortunately, I've been dealing with an allergic reaction since then so I haven't been able to use it yet.
The kids even got into the gifting action by baking me a cake.
A spice cake! With a message spelled out with stars.

Life is good.

And maybe, if I find some spare time, I may write a belated birthday post.
If you plan on holding your breathe for that one, let me know so that I can dial 911 for you! :)

Been Awhile. . .

I decided to take a short break from blog posting.
To be honest, I thought it would be longer.

Just too much going on in my head that even I was having trouble processing on my own.

Just too much going on in my life, the calendar doesn't have much white space left in it.
Just too much going. . .

We made it through two Birthdays.

I am on the ending of a major allergic reaction to poison ivy medication.
The poison ivy wasn't that bad. . .But man, did the Ivarest put me in Urgent Care last weekend.
I am now stepping down off of the steroids and running out of the antihistamine.
Wish me luck - the legs still look horrible.

We have been working on the outside of the house (see Poison Ivy note above). I should be able to post some in-process pictures soon. . .Crossing my fingers.
I'd be even happier if I could post FINAL pictures soon!

And even though the kids' schools are not back in session until the week after next, I feel like we are already there full force. Just no bus service to help right now! Every day, we are at both schools once, if not twice to drop off and pick up from sports. Thankfully, I have a good car pool set up for the high school - the farthest building from the house and we only have to make one trip there a day.

I volunteers to be the Treasurer of the Volleyball Boosters - WHAT WAS I THINKING?
You know. . .Now that I think about it. . .I don't remember there being Boosters for individual sports at my school? Maybe I was just not exposed to it since I was a "stat" person?

We have two orientations next week and no supply list to be heard of as of now.

I received the Volleyball Schedule last week. A few hick-ups, but nothing we can't work around.
I received the Football Schedule LAST NIGHT, after the scrimmage that I heard about from ANOTHER parent. The schedule? First game next Saturday - a Saturday that I made plans for, because if we had a game that soon we would have already had the schedules. . .Right? WRONG! This schedule put LOTS of hick ups into the calendar (especially the Thursday game - I believe I was told at sign-ups that all games would be on Saturday????).

Don't these people realize that some of us have so much going on that we need information IN ADVANCE?
