#SaturdaySongs - Worldwide Beautiful

I am sharing a song if it...
> Spoke to what is going on in the world today...
> Moved me (for some reason or another)...
> Is a treasure that I just want to share...
> Is just something that I like to listen to...

NOTE: I am not receiving any compensation for spotlighting these songs. I did not write them, sing them or own them... I am just sharing with others who may love music too.

"Wonderful Beautiful
Performed by Kane Brown
Written by: Jordan Mark Schmidt, Kane Brown, Ryan James Hurd, Jordan Schmidt, Ryan Hurd, Shy Carter

This song is, in my opinion, very fitting right now with all of the equality work that we have to do...
I read somewhere that he has had this song for for about a year and was just waiting for the right time to release it...
I think now is the right time...

Lyrics:
White churches, black churches
Different people, same hearses
It's kinda hard to fight with each other
Laying down in the ground, six under
At every show I see my people
They ain't the same, but they're all equal
One love, one God, one family
You're missing every color
If you're only seeing black and white
Tell me how you're gonna change your mind
If your heart's unmovable
We ain't that different from each other
From one to another, I look around
And see worldwide beautiful
Thank God, thank God, thank God, thank God, thank God, thank God
Oh, thank God, thank God, thank God, thank God, thank God, thank God
Coast to coast, city to city
Reach out your hands if you're with me
Still got some work but we still got a dream
Every shade, every heart come together and

#FridayFinds - Arturo's Fritz & Alfredo's

We found ourselves at another restaurant on our list...
And at first glance, we thought we were going for Italian...
But it ended up being Mexican / German.

Yep - I'll wait a minute while you read that one again.

Super All Beef Burrito

Potato Cakes
(Had to get German in there somewhere)

Arroz Con Pollo (Cajun Chicken Style)

I was thinking that the menu (minus the German stuff) looked familiar, but I knew for sure that we hadn't been there before...

And I figured out later why (as I was researching trying to figure out how Mexican and German are both in the same menu) - Arturo's and Ventura's (see last week's #FridayFind) are owned by the same people... and their menus are VERY similar.

Luckily, the taste of the food was not. The ground beef had way more flavor.  The chicken (both places was shredded) was much more moist.

I don't think this will be a repeat for us, but I wouldn't say that it was bad.

#CraftyTuesday - Guessed Right This Time

If you have read my previous posts (especially last week's #CraftyTuesday), then you know that I had two friends going down the surprise route with their babies.

I guessed wrong on the first, but hit a home run with the second!
And he was born on my daughter's birthday and was named my oldest grandson's nickname.
Connections, Connections.

#SaturdaySongs - I Dare You

I am sharing a song if it...
> Spoke to what is going on in the world today...
> Moved me (for some reason or another)...
> Is a treasure that I just want to share...
> Is just something that I like to listen to...

NOTE: I am not receiving any compensation for spotlighting these songs. I did not write them, sing them or own them... I am just sharing with others who may love music too.

First up: "I Dare You
Performed by Kelly Clarkson
Written by Ben West, Jeff Gitelman, Jesse Shatkin, Laura Veltz, Natalie Hemby

This song is beautiful in its original form and the lyric video touched me...

Now, get out YouTube and search for it... You will find it in a mega-mix global version (amazing), an ASL version (touching), different language versions (impressive)... and I'm hoping soon - a virtual acapella version (that Kelly doesn't even sing in) that Kelly posted a snippet on Instragram...

Lyrics:
There's a wolf that preys on a world
That strays so far from the Garden (oh)
And just like your own
Every heart you know seems cold and hardened (oh)
You may not have the stage, but you still have a voice
You may not have the strength, but if you have a choice
I dare you to love
Oh, I dare you to love
Even if you're hurt and you can only see the worst
Even if you think it's not enough
Oh, I dare you to love
We're all full of hope, tryna stay afloat, tryna save one another
People let you drown 'cause they don't know how to stay above water (oh)
When they're too broken to know what they've put you through
Do the only thing that you'd want done to you
Oh, I dare you to love (dare you to love)
Oh, I dare you to love (I dare you to love)
Even if you're hurt and you can only see the worst (oh)
Even if you think it's not enough
Oh, I dare you to love
I dare you to love, oh
You may not have the stage, but you still have a voice
You may not have the strength, but if you have a choice
I dare you to love, even if you can't
No, I dare you to love
Oh, even if you're hurt
And you can only see the worst (even if you only)
Even if you think it's not enough
Oh, I, I dare you
I dare you

Oh, I, I dare you to love

#FridayFinds - Venturas

We got to experience a new Mexican restaurant for a friend's birthday...
Another repeat of limited menus...

Con Queso w/ Ground Beef

Super Chicken Burrito
(Enchilada Style - which means cheese on top)

Burrito Supreme w/ Ground Beef

This one really surprised me as it seems popular and busy...
But the beef was tasteless and the chicken was dry (very dry)...

Good thing there are so many Mexican Restaurants in this area, because this one isn't a repeat for us.

#CraftyTuesday - Detroit Bound

A dear friend of mine in Detroit was having his first this year...
And they decided to be surprised and not know if it was a boy or girl.

I actually had two friends doing the surprised route, so I was flying blind on getting quilts done.
So, I made one girl quilt (thinking that Detroit was going to be pinks and purples) and a boy quilt for my other friend.

I was quickly back at the sewing machine when I found out that Mr. Detroit had made his arrival.
(And I can't share the girl quilt yet as I don't know who it will be for yet)

#SaturdaySongs - Six Feet Apart

I love music. Always have. Always will.
I'd rather listen to music than watching TV (right now MBB has the TV on and I have earbuds in listening to my playlist)...
But I kept my day job cause I would never make a living singing.  As long as I have someone singing with me, I can keep the tune... But heaven help your ears if I try to do it solo.

So, I decided to add a new feature to the blog: #Saturday Songs.

I am sharing a song if it...
> Spoke to what is going on in the world today...
> Moved me (for some reason or another)...
> Is a treasure that I just want to share...
> Is just something that I like to listen to...

"Six Feet Apart
Performed by Luke Combs
Written by Luke Combs, Brent Cobb, Robert Snyder

This song is, in my opinion, very fitting for 2020 with the COVID-19 issues...

Lyrics:
When the dogwoods start to bloom
And the crickets hum their tune
That's usually about the time
That I feel most alive
But the news has all been bad
And the whole world seems so sad
I ain't had much else going on
So I sat down and wrote this song
I miss my mom, I miss my dad
I miss the road, I miss my band
Givin' hugs and shakin' hands
It's a mystery, I suppose
Just how long this thing goes
But there'll be crowds and there'll be shows
And there will be a light after dark
Someday when we aren't six feet apart
First thing that I'm gonna do
Is slide on in some corner booth
And take the whole damn family out
And buy my buddies all a round
Pay some extra on the tab
Catch a movie, catch a cab
Watch a ballgame from the stands
Probably over-wash my hands
I miss my mom, I miss my dad
I miss the road, I miss my band
Givin' hugs and shakin' hands
Well, it's a mystery, I suppose
Just how long this thing goes
But there'll be crowds and there'll be shows
And there will be a light after dark
Someday when we aren't six feet apart
I miss my mom, I miss my dad
I miss the road, I miss my band
Givin' hugs and shakin' hands
Well, it's a mystery, I suppose
Just how long this thing goes
But there'll be crowds and there'll be shows
There will be a light after dark
Someday when we aren't six feet apart
There will be a light after dark
Someday when we aren't six feet apart

#FridayFinds - El Nuevo Vallarta

There was a Mexican restaurant that we drove by a lot while out playing pool...
We always said that we were going to go there some day...
And we finally did...

Chicken Burrito with Chorizo

Fish Tacos
And this one will be a repeat!
It was good... Can't believe we waited this long to try it!

#CraftyTuesday - Dinosaur Quilt

Each of my grandkids got a quilt when they were born...
Then, they get another slightly bigger one when they turn six.

This was the big year for our dinosaur lover!

#FridayFinds - Whiskey and the Wolf

Now that Ohio is opening back up a bit - we have started crossing places off of our "Restaurant To Try" list.

The only problem is that some of these places have limited menus due to the pandemic, so we don't always get to try what we want...

Potato Croquettes

Philly Cheese Steak (Special of the night)

This was supposed to be the Roasted Turkey Club... but they didn't have any turkey...
So, it is the Seared Chicken made with the Turkey Toppings... and Sweet Potato Fries

This place comes very highly recommended, so we may go again to try other items...
Hopefully, once the menu is fully back to normal.
