#FridayFinds - Gran Fiesta Mexican Restaurant (Strongsville, OH)

Yes, we were out of town for a pool tournament (surprise)...

And we tracked down a Mexican restaurant (double surprise)...

Hubby even talked them into adjusting one of their items to be more like his favorite back home.

They were surprised by the combination and seem interested - who knows, it may be on the menu now?  Probably not, but we can be hopeful if we ever return.

#FridayFinds - Jubie's Creamery (Fairborn, OH)

We headed north to see my brother for his birthday and ended up with some great ice cream.

If you are in the Fairborn area and have already experienced Young's Jersey Dairy over in Springfield, then I recommend giving Jubie's a try.  I believe that this is a regular spot for my brother's family.

#FridayFinds - Maplewood Kitchen and Bar

At work, we have a tradition of going to lunch once a month as a team.  We have a few favs that we repeat, but we also target new restaurants to try. 

Maplewood in downtown Cincinnati was one of our targets (okay, so it wasn't new to everyone - but it was new to me).  I took pictures of everyone's food but only know what I ordered. :)

Food was great...

Atmosphere was great...

Walk from the office wasn't that bad...

#FridayFinds - Bourbon House Pizza

Hubby LOVES Chicago style pizza, so we decided to give Bourbon House Pizza (the Union location) a try.  Now, the bad thing about Chicago style pizza is how long it takes to cook... So, we decided to get an appetizer tray to pass some of the time. 

The food was great - but the restaurant area is VERY small, so there is usually a long wait (which doesn't work for our personalities).  If you can find a time when they aren't taking names, I highly recommend trying them out.

Ok, this wasn't really a find - we go here quite often.

Since we do go here so much and definitely have our "regular" order, I thought I should document it because we are such fans (and I've seen a few posts/articles lately that don't care for our items).

#FridayFinds - Rise and Shine Breakfast House (Indianapolis, IN)

As we were heading to a pool tournament, we randomly wanted to stop for brunch.

Some googling and we found Rise & Shine Breakfast House.  The food was good, but the actual restaurant needed some help (both in more staff and some elbow grease).  Now, I will say that there was a "recent ownership/name change" when we stopped by, so if you go now - things may be much better.

We don't get over that way very often, so we haven't been back to verify.

I am also a bit behind on my posting (sorry, I am back dating) - so, I don't remember exactly what we ordered... But I do remember it tasting good.

#CraftyTuesday - Door Corner Decorations

I love to decorate for the holidays, but my knees are not liking that all of my decorations are stored in the basement.  Wonderful hubby that I have started making some door corner decorations for me that I can store more easily on the first floor.  And they make for good gifts too. :)

And no - we are not selling any of them. Just making for us and gifts.

I headed to Washington DC for a conference and found my way into an airport restaurant on my way home. The food was very filling, very tasty, and (typical airport) very pricey.

After A LOT of pool, we headed across the parking lot to Miller's Ale House for grub.

Food wasn't bad and was way better priced than at the venue.
