Thoughts... Ten months later...

So, I had a few thoughts earlier in the year...

And with all of the unexpected excitement this year, I have tried to continue with the 12 books for the year...

Tried...

I gave up on the one per month.  Who cares if I can get two done in one month?

1. (AKA Jan) Steve Jobs
2. (AKA Feb) American Sniper: The Autobiography of the Most Lethal Sniper in U.S. Military History
3. Hunger Games (Hunger Games Book 1)
4. Catching Fire (Hunger Games Book 2)
5. Mockingjay (Hunger Games Book 3)
6. Treachery In Death
7. ...There will be another In Death book released this year...

Hmmm... I need to go look through the pile of books...
I am pretty sure that I read more than that...

Stupid Emotions...

My emotions have been on a roller coaster lately.
I have not hit the age that I can blame it on "the change"...
Though sometimes, I can/will blame it on Mother Nature.

I am realizing that my life has changed drastically over the last 5 years.
Some ways for the better.
Some ways...well, it is hard to say goodbye to people, dreams, hopes.

I have days where everything is wonderful.
I have days when I try, really try, to get some closure on things so that I can let go.
I've made decisions.  They were mine to make.
But that doesn't make it any easier.

I hate worrying...
I hate the fact that a person across town has such a big impact on my life...
I hate that phone lines / highways seem to only go one way...
I hate that I am the one who has to make a change when that change wasn't my choice...

I miss some of my family...
I miss feeling like I was important...
I miss making pretty stuff...
I really miss my exercise place...

I love seeing the stars so beautiful in the morning...
I love being a wife...98% of the time.
I love that even though I experienced a tornado...I am still here to recover from it.
I love that the recovery is almost over...Almost.

At times, I don't post to the blog because I don't want it to be a place of constant whining.
Other times, I just have to get it out somewhere and even though a lot gets censored because I really don't know who read here... Well, this is my one and only somewhere.

And as my roller coaster decides to become one for the record books, I have to figure out a way to get back to me.  I know that some things on my bucket list will never get a check mark by them.  I have to be okay with that and learn to focus on the things that did get those check marks.

Scatterbrained...

I blogged...
I did...
See below - there they are!

What?  Weeks ago?
Can't be, I JUST blogged...

Crap.

Guess I'm still not back in the swing of things yet.
I have a feeling that I'll stay in the current swing of things for a bit longer.

No More Paw Prints...

Yeager-bomb's paw prints are a permanent part of our home, but their are now covered by some pretty tile!

On my soap box...

I am a firm believer that everyone is different.
Everyone has their own religion, politics, education, etc etc etc.

I am also a firm believer that everyone is entitled to being different / unique / etc.

I have my own views.

To be honest, I don't share them with many people because they are mine.
I have had 38 years of experiences that go into my views.
Family.
Values.
Experiences.
I could go on and on.

But I won't.

You see...I don't like the arguments that come about from different views.
It would be different if we could share our thoughts and opinions... Key word: Share.
Not - yell, scream, accuse, push my thoughts down your throat so far until you choke on them.

Yep - been there, done that.
Don't like it.
Especially don't like it in my own home.

Paw Prints...Permanent!

I am being a broken record when I say - as we are working on the tornado repair...
Anyway, some leveler was put down for our tile in the living room.
We got up the next morning to find that Yeager-bomb decided that his paw prints needed to be a permanent part of our house.
Don't think he'll be too happy when he realizes that the tile is going to cover them up.  :)

Progress!

As I was driving home last night, I saw some things that made me smile.
OK, honestly, they made me giddy.

You see, we had a tornado.

Yes, I know that you all remember that post back in March.
And though that may be a distant memory for all of you, well... it is still what I am living with everyday.

That empty lot that was empty, except for a POD container, now has a house structure...

And that structure is suddenly covered in brick...

That split in two, broken up/down double wide at the end of my road is suddenly gone...

That single wide trailor on my road that was on the verge of falling over is suddenly gone...

The metal trash pile beside our garage is reduced by about half...
With the knowledge that the rest of the pile will be gone soon...

Yeah, well, it made my day.

Two Years!

MBB and I celebrated our two year anniversary...
We decided to take a day off of work and head out of town for the night.
Our room was VERY nice!
The pool, in our room...
Yes, I did just type that the pool was IN our room...
Not down the hall...
Not by the lobby...
IN OUR ROOM.

Yep, was a nice anniversary.

Seven Months

It has been seven months since the tornado rocked our world.
It is still rocking.

We have made some big progress and are (crossing fingers) getting close to being done.
Well, maybe once we haul away all of the metal in our front yard...
And get rid of the POD and the dumpster...
And...
You get the drift.

We do have 90% of our brick done...
And a new front door (yes, I still need to paint the jam)...

And a new side door...
Yes, still needs some work there too...

Yummy

Saw a recipe for a 3-2-1 cake on a blog and decided to try it.
I must say - it is pretty yummy.
Okay - so it isn't much, but it seems to hit the spot with a bit of whipped cream.
