#CraftyTuesday - Another Great Niece
We welcomed another Great Niece into the family (ok, technically it is a cousin - but we are closer than that, so honorary niece it is!). She is so loved by everyone, and I can't wait to watch her grow.

#CraftyTuesday - The Family is Growing
We welcomed a new great-niece earlier this year and you guessed it - that called for another quilt!

#CraftyTuesday - Thankfulness and Goodbyes
A good friend up north would help me pin quilts (which was a godsend), so I made a quilt for her as a Thank You. It also lined up to be a "Goodbye" as well as I had to have it delivered after we headed south...
Some of the material matched the quilt that I made for her grandson previously...

#CraftyTuesday - Spiderman Rules
I am very strict with myself - if I did something for our first grandbaby, I do it for all of them!
There will be no: "Nana is that for big brother, but not for me!" said about me...
All of my grand blessings got baby quilts when they first arrived and then a longer one when they turned six. The baby just turned six.
If they want another one of Nana's blankets - they have to help me and learn how much goes into making them a blanket.
Namaste.

#CraftyTuesday - Work Family
We spend so much time at work, that sometimes our coworkers become our work family.
Here is to celebrating new baby boys joining the work family...

#CraftyTuesday - Heavenly Snuggles
Halfway through making this quilt, the sweet baby boy was called home to heaven before even blessing us with his presence...
I couldn't touch my sewing machine without the tears...

#CraftyTuesday - Pool Pro in Training
One of my dear friends and fellow pool player just grew her family and added her first little one.
Since both of her parents are very good pool players, I expect it won't be long before she has a baby pool stick in her hands!
Namaste.

#CraftyTuesday - Baby Girl's Baby Girl
There have been a few quilt creations over the last few years, but they were stuck on my phone - so it is time to share!
When I was 10, I was blessed with a cousin who become my "Baby Girl".
Now, many years later, my Baby Girl blessed us with her own Baby Girl - her daughter.
I loved creating this one as our tastes are very similar and this one would look right at home in my home just as it does in her nursery.
Welcome Baby Girl #2.

#CraftyTuesday - Movie Watching Time
Most of my creations are to welcome new babies into the world...
But, occasionally, I will make a bigger one (either for my grands or for a friend)...

This quilt was made to snuggle on the couch and watch movies...

#CraftyTuesday - Guessed Right This Time
If you have read my previous posts (especially last week's #CraftyTuesday), then you know that I had two friends going down the surprise route with their babies.
I guessed wrong on the first, but hit a home run with the second!
And he was born on my daughter's birthday and was named my oldest grandson's nickname.
Connections, Connections.

#CraftyTuesday - Detroit Bound
A dear friend of mine in Detroit was having his first this year...
And they decided to be surprised and not know if it was a boy or girl.
I actually had two friends doing the surprised route, so I was flying blind on getting quilts done.
So, I made one girl quilt (thinking that Detroit was going to be pinks and purples) and a boy quilt for my other friend.
I was quickly back at the sewing machine when I found out that Mr. Detroit had made his arrival.
(And I can't share the girl quilt yet as I don't know who it will be for yet)
Namaste.

Then, they get another slightly bigger one when they turn six.

#CraftyTuesday - Sewing Again
Being as we were "shelter at home" for so long, I was able to get some quilts made...
So, #CraftyTuesdays are back for a bit...
First up - my great niece's...
Yes, I said GREAT niece (oh, I'm starting to feel old)!
Namaste.

#CraftyTuesdays - Cousins #2
Another cousin is having a little girl...
Amidst all of the traveling for work and life, I was able to make a blanket in time for the baby shower.

#CraftyTuesday - Cousins
One of my cousins is expecting her first little girl.
Since I was already working on Zilla's new quilt, I decided to make her one too.
In my opinion, it is easier and faster to work on multiple quilts at once...
Don't ask, I can't explain...

#CraftyTuesday - Swingzeebo
MBB saw a picture on Facebook that put a creative idea in his head and couldn't let it go...
He designed and built it (with the exception of pouring/laying the concrete).
I tried to get some pictures of it throughout the process:
Since I took the final picture, we have made a few changes:
> We are now leaving two bays open - one for entry (front) and for firewood retrieval (back).
> MBB added cross braces in each upper corner and it is much more stable now.
> Added two bottle openers spread out through the posts.
Some details that are real noticeable in the picture:
> We have three double outlets spread out through the posts.
> There is a light switch for the lights.
> The three potted plants have lavender in them to try to make it a mosquito - free zone.
> There is a blue tooth speaker up in the top (what I call the rafters).
> We bought two strands of lights from Costco, but one was bright enough on its own.
We have just a bit more to do:
> Buy more seating for one bay (the patio chairs showing in the two front bays belong on the deck).
> Stain the wood (since it is treated, we will need to wait about six months to do this)
> Figure out something for garbage.
Just a side note - the squirrels thinks that we made them an obstacle course.
We have a great view of them "playing" from the dining room window.
Namaste.

| Forming up the shape for the concrete. |

Concrete poured with the center left open for the firepit. We buried the first row
of bricks so that there would be a barrier between the fire and the concrete.
|

We didn't leave it perfectly smooth, because we were
afraid it would get slippery when it got wet.
|

The firepit makes an appearance - we bought two kits and combined them into one to keep little bodies
going a 100 miles an hour from falling in. Once the boys get older, we may take off the top row.
|

The frame starts to go up. I swore that I took more pictures
during this phase, but I can't seem to find anymore!
|

We put some stain on the gray tubing that holds the electric wire so
that it would blend in a bit with the wood and not stand out so much.

#CraftyTuesday - Tractors!
Zilla got his first quilt that was Lion King-ish themed when he was a baby.
That blanket got so much use that it was loved to death and someone (not sure who) didn't realize the significance of the blanket and got rid of it. MaBell wasn't happy!
Zilla has been after me to make him a bigger, tractor quilt for a while now.
I finally came through for his sixth birthday!
Namaste.
