#FridayFinds - Limoncello (Miami)

Due to some recent rotations at work, I am no longer in a traveling position.  I fulfilled one last trip in the transition to Miami.  While there, we tried Lunoncello.  It was yummy, but I suspect that Miami should now be classified as a "high price city" if all of the prices are like theirs.

#FridayFinds - Alexxa f.n.a. Hexx (Las Vegas)

This is definitely our favorite brunch spot in Vegas, although the prices have started to get out of control since COVID. You've probably heard of them from me on this very blog.

They have a new item on their menu.  I wasn't willing to order it since it was so unknown, but I got one pancake on the side and they brought me the toppings so that I could "try it".  Needless to say, I'll probably be ordering it on our next trip there!

Hubby's Fav: Cinnaroll Waffle

The breakfast potatoes are by far my favorite thing on the menu. Even though some come with my ometlet, we always get an extra side because Hubby and I will fight over them.

#FridayFinds - Nacho Daddy (Las Vegas)

Another restaurant that we have visited on previous Vegas trips is Nacho Daddy.  This time, we got new dishes, so I decided to take pictures to post here (even though I think I have posted about them before).

I'm bummed that they don't have my Asian Chicken Nachos anymore, but we did find a good replacement that I have now recreated at home.

#FridayFinds - Ghirardelli (Las Vegas)

I know that Vegas has an "inflated price" issue.  Has for years and it has gotten worst since COVID.
I am now still in disbelief that my company doesn't consider Las Vegas a high price city for our food budget when it is almost impossible to eat reasonably (unless you go to In-And-Out Burger for every meal).

One restaurant that I think has completely TAKEN ADVANTAGE of the ability to get away with price hiking is Ghirardelli.  Especially in August, when the temperatures are miserable, and they are selling ice cream. Why you ask?  Well, the sundae pictured below - $22.70.  Yes, twenty-two dollars and seventy cents.

NEVER AGAIN.

#FridayFinds - Resort World Food Court

We had explored Resort World on previous trips and saw the awesome selection in their food court area but hadn't tried any of the restaurants.  Until now.

With the loop giving us easier access from Westgate in the horrid heat of August, we headed that way for a meal.  The worst part was that there was just too much to choose from! Hubby and I went to different places (I even went to two to get a side), but we were all satisfied with our selections.

#FridayFinds - Carlos 'n Charlie's Restaurant

Here is an old standby that we visit often while in Vegas.  I don't think I've ever posted them as a #FridayFinds, but decided to take pictures during our multiple trips there this time...

And I'm very glad I did.

We just saw an article that Flamingo is getting rid of our old stand-by. And since the Flamingo's website for the restaurant is now down, I don't think it was spam.

Granted, I wouldn't say that the food was the best. But the ease of getting reservations for large groups, the awesome happy hour and, this last trip, the great entertainment of balloon art was enough to get us to return over and over.

We will miss them on our future trips, but we will treasure all of the memories.
What are you thinking Flamingo?

#FridayFinds - In-and-Out Burger (Las Vegas)

We ended up in Las Vegas twice this year.  I so wish the league would find another location to hold their tournaments!

A few trips ago, we tried In-and-Out Burger, but I didn't get any pictures - so they are getting posted after this trip.  I will say that this is one of the more affordable places to eat in Vegas and Hubby made it there twice this go around. The menu is very limited, but the food isn't bad - especially for the price!

#FridayFinds - Blue Bayou Restaurant & Oyster Bar (New Orleans, LA)

Hubby and I went exploring in New Orleans the weekend before I had a work conference.  On the list of things to do - explore the city, explore the waterways, and eat good gumbo!

We checked all three off of the list!

And the gumbo was great and similar to what we have at home using Jambalaya Girl's Gumbo Mix.
If you haven't tried it - go to her website and order it!

#FridayFinds - Viva Zapata's! Mexican Restaurant & Cantina (Las Vegas)

At the end of this particular trip, we rented a car and went exploring outside of Vegas.  On the way back, we attempted to hide from the typical Vegas prices and grab some, you guessed it, Mexican on the way back to the airport.

The mexican fare was interesting and not the stuff that you normally get at a Mexican Restaurant in the USA.  That could mean that it was more authentic (since I've ate in Mexico - I don't think so but could be) or they are trying to set themselves apart from all of the others (I think this is probably it) ...

This was something that they brought for free and was interesting.
I can't find it on the menu to tell you what it is called though.

Queso Fundido

Tacos - I'm guessing Tacos de Carne Asada (no jalapenos)
(Hubby couldn't find a burrito or pollo dish he wanted)

Stuff that came with the fajitas

#FridayFinds - Good Pie (Las Vegas)

We were craving some pizza but had no energy to go exploring - so we used Uber Eats to get pizza from Good Pie.

I don't know if it was because we got it delivered or if this was the norm, but we could barely eat it.
It tasted burnt and not good at all.

#FridayFinds - Mother Wolf (Las Vegas)

While we are in Las Vegas (yes - for a pool tournament, imagine that), we attempt to try a new restaurant.  Mother Wolf was one that a fellow pool player wanted to try, so we tagged along.

I have to say that the pasta we had was A-MAZING... but you have to order everything separately (think protein, bread, etc.), so it is VERY expensive (and think - Vegas prices, which makes it worse).

Overall, I am definitely glad that we tried it and will forever talk about that pasta, but due to our wallet crying, probably won't be a repeat.

This was the amazing tasting pasta.
I can't read the menu to tell you what it was called though. :(

Protein side - it was fantastic

Another pasta

Pizza - not sure which one though

#FridayFinds - Gran Fiesta Mexican Restaurant (Strongsville, OH)

Yes, we were out of town for a pool tournament (surprise)...
And we tracked down a Mexican restaurant (double surprise)...

Hubby even talked them into adjusting one of their items to be more like his favorite back home.
They were surprised by the combination and seem interested - who knows, it may be on the menu now?  Probably not, but we can be hopeful if we ever return.

The adjusted item - added pineapple to a pollo dish

Nachos of some sort

Skinny - of course
