We found a little cheese steak place in Temperance, MI.
I will admit that we have been there a few times (even once with our weekly group).

We have tried a lot of the sandwiches... I think they could improve their sauces a bit, but overall the sandwiches are good.

#FridayFinds - Rumours

There is a restaurant in Sylvania, OH called Rumours.
MBB and I have avoided it because it reminds us of an establishment in the Cincinnati area that ISN'T a restaurant...
But it was picked by our weekly dinner group, so there we went.

Let me just say that the portions are HUGE...
And the spice level (taste, not heat) had a lot to be desired...Very bland.

Tabouli Salad - Not a repeat for any of us

Chef Salad - was good

Chili - too many beans

Gyros Meat & Hommous appetizer - was good, but huge

The Greek Trio - Spinach Pie, Mousaka (Eggplant), Pastitsio(Greek Lasagna)

Gyros Dinner (We think)

#FridayFinds - Cabo Wabo Cantina in Las Vegas

We found a new Mexican restaurant in Las Vegas while we were waiting to see Criss Angel.
It was pretty good - the location may keep it from being a normal repeat, but it is definitely on the "could return" list.

Cheese dip - this is the one that most likely will not be a repeat.

Fish Tacos - Yummy (The rice wasn't that great though)

MBB and I stopped into Coney Island Co in Lambertville, MI.
It was way better than we expected (and had more people there than we expected), but probably not a repeat for us.

Saying Goodbye...

I was doing so good blogging in 2019...
Granted - a majority of the time, it was only one post per week (gotta love #FridayFinds), but I was posting!


Then, life happened.
And not in a good way.


I was a few weeks behind due to work overload, but had pictures queued up to go...
Then, I got that dreaded text that no one wants: You need to come home, quickly.


I made it...
I had to say goodbye...
To the beautiful, loving, amazing MommyMarie.


So, I apologize for anyone that does read here...
But, it may be awhile before I am done with the paperwork and all of the crazy stuff that comes along with a close family member making their final transition.


Though, I don't think the tears will go away for a very long time...

#FridayFinds - 571 Grill and Draft House

For this edition of #FridayFinds, I'm heading back out of town.
For those of you in the Dayton, OH area - this is a good trip to take.

Smoked Gouda Macaroni & Cheese Balls

The m&c balls were much bigger than I expected - I could only eat two of them! I did like these better than other m&c balls that I have had - much less fried coating to the amount of pasta.

Glazed Donut and Bacon Cheeseburger

Definitely a different sandwich - sweet and salty combination.  Glad I tried 

 This was different sandwich - big sweet and salty combination.  I am glad that I tried it, but I don't think that this one is a repeat for me.

Wings

I am not a fan of wings and didn't actually try these... But the plate was clean at the end, so I am okay saying that these were good for any wing lovers out there.

Years and years ago, I tried Fricker's in another state and wasn't impressed...

To the point, that this was a restaurant that I refused to enter...

However, when it is a friend's birthday and another friend works here...

Yeah, time to give it another try.

We'll be back.  Definitely MUCH better food (and service!) than I had before.

MBB liked the chili cheese fries and I liked his boneless wings...

#FridayFinds - Inky's (another Augh)

We decided to try another Italian restaurant...

You'd think that we would learn by now - Nope.

Trio Platter - Stuffed Shells, Lasagna, Ziti

Frog Legs

They did have great stuffed shells, but the overall plate was too much marinara sauce for me.
MBB had a similar platter and he also agreed that the stuffed shells were the best of everything.
The frog legs - no thanks.  I have had frog legs before and liked them... But this version were very tasteless...From the meat to the breading.  We left most of them on the plate.

Overall, not a repeat.

Neither of us were happy when we left...

We are now 2/6 on Italian restaurants that we will visit in the Toledo area...

#FridayFinds - 5th Street Pub

 I couldn't tell you the number of times that we have driven by this restaurant and never realized it was there!  I was searching for new places to eat and that's how we found it (thanks Google!).

Quite a few of us tried it out - no, MBB and I did not order/eat all of this! 

Though, we did "try" most of it.

Pepperoni and Basil Pizza

This was some type of meat lovers pizza.  

I know that it had bacon on it (and I think it had pepperoni).

Chicken and Bacon Pizza with Alfredo Sauce

Chicken Parmesan with Risotto

Chicken Sandwich with fries

Smores Pizza

All and all - this will be a repeat for us.
We didn't care for the pizza (and those who tried the Smores Pizza were not fans).

Why a repeat then?
MBB loved the Chicken Parmesan (said it was one of the best that he'd ever had) and I want to try their brisket burger.

#FridayFinds - Spaghetti Warehouse (Augh)

MBB and I ventured over to Toledo to try out the Spaghetti Warehouse.  I had experienced this restaurant previously in another state, but wanted to see this one because of the train care in the middle of the restaurant.

The verdict?  Don't bother.

Yes, the train care is there and looks really cool looking, but the food isn't worth it!

Neither of us were happy when we left... 

We are now 2/5 on Italian restaurants that we will visit in the Toledo area...

Italian Wedding Soup... Kinda.  

First time I'd ever had it with angel hair type noodles...

Lasagna w/ Meatballs / Sausage

The meatballs were the best part (and Lasagna is usually my fav)

Trio... Usually this type of plate is MBB's favorite.

Not today (he ate one bite of the alfredo)
