#FridayFinds - Travel Edition Take 2

I am beginning to see a trend... Texas.

I have three quilts that now reside there...
I have spotlighted travel on #FridayFind twice now...Both are from Texas.

When I am traveling, I tend to eat things that MBB doesn't care for...
So, there is lots of Fish, BBQ and Sushi!

Up this round is a stop at a Suchi place in Dallas:  Uchi

We (my sushi buddy and I) sat at the bar and the head chef took care of us...

They started by bringing us a complimentary starter...
I don't remember what they called it, but I do remember it being yummy.

Then, as is our norm, we each order something and then share.
Here was the first:
And the second:
(I think there was a third, but my camera made me think that it took a photo... and didn't...)

And a Japanese type cheesecake with caramel and ice cream for dessert:

I wish that I could give you the names of everything that we had... but these pictures have been on my phone for a couple months and many trips ago and my memory was only kind enough to remind me of the "Japanese cheesecake".

I will say that the food was at a "treat price" (in other words, it didn't break the bank, but was higher than norm for a typical restaurant meal) and the food tasted really good.

My View

Yesterday was the first really nice weather day we have had this spring...
Let that sit in a minute.
First nice weather day
Yesterday
May 1st

Yep, I'm still dumb founded too.

But I took advantage of the weather to sit on the back deck and just be...
It was so peaceful and wonderful and relaxing...
I think I set there for about an hour just enjoying the view:

I didn't get a repeat today...
Some raindrops decided that they liked the view this evening too.

#FridayFinds - Thai

This is another favorite of ours...
But I haven't posted about it earlier, because I kept forgetting to take pictures!

Meet Rose Thai:
Funny that two of the Asian Restaurants we like have "Rose" in their names...

They have a house salad that comes with our combo... Lettuce and a ginger-type dressing. MBB doesn't care for it - so I get two!

I'm not sure that they like us too much though - we are one of those who find what we like and "makes it better".  We liked the noodles on that dish and the sauce on the other...
And well, yep, I get "N2. with small noodles":

And I like it like that!

Retrospective

I am at a place where I need to stop and just be retrospective.

On one of my recent trips, I was surprised and shocked to win an award.
An award for all of the hard work I have put in the last four years.
Yes, the big T pays me to do it, but I enjoy doing it...
And now someone is publicly announcing that they think I do it well.

I never aimed for this award...
I never knew that I wanted it...
Until I got it.

Suddenly, it almost felt like a weight was lifted off of my shoulders...
Almost like this was a huge check on the bucket list...
But I really didn't realize that it was on the bucket list...
And it felt good.

I am beginning to soul search to see if I can make more of an impact on my own.
Cause I won't be doing this forever at the Big T, but I may want to do it forever...

Being A Woman...

...sucks some days.

This is one of those days...

No - I don't want to talk about "what is bothering me"...
No - I don't want to do anything productive...
No - I don't want to get anywhere near a scale after my date with chocolate...
And bagels...

And tomorrow, I have to get on an airplane, put on a cocktail dress/heals and play nice.
Good thing I like my paycheck.

#FridayFinds - While Traveling

While I was Dallas last month, a group of us went to Kenny's Wood Fired Grill.
Everything looked yummy, so I snapped as many pictures as I could.

 Bread and Brie Cheese Dip:

My "quarter" wedge salad (I asked for a half wedge):

I had a crab cake and brussel sprouts:

Here were some other plates.  I know the second one is chicken, but not sure on the other two.
A non-photographed plate was salmon.  I got to taste and it was wonderful!

A Breather...

Life has been crazy...
I long for the days where only one thing was crazy at a time.
I am taking a breather from getting stuff done around the house and getting ready for the next trip to stop in for a few moments.

I have posted all of my creations, so it is back to posting them as I make them...
I have posted all of the places that we found to eat around town...
I do have one travel restaurant that I'll share this Friday.

I am now in travel season...
MBB is working on unpacking the last of the boxes...
We got in some visits to family members and need to do some more soon...
We are (crossing fingers) about to close the chapter on selling the house in Kentucky.

I will try to get some creativity back and keep up with the posting...
But I make no promises until travel season eases up!

#CraftyTuesday - Caught Up!

This is the last quilt from 2016 that I didn't have posted...
This was for a Kentucky friend and her first grandson.

The entire family are big UK fans... So I wasn't surprised when Blue (and Gray) was a nursery color.  I didn't make it a UK blanket - but it won't clash if his room evolves from nursery to UK in the future.

WOW!

The last two weeks have just passed by in a blur...
And I don't see it stopping anytime soon.

I was in Dallas, then San Antonio...
We finally had Christmas and Easter in the same weekend...

Family drama...
Family memories...
Different family...

Work has exploded - projects and traveling...
I've taken pictures to blog and then never find the time to post.
Since I'll be in Indianapolis, Columbus and Nashville soon - it will take some fancy scheduling to get it all straight and figured out.

But never fear!
I will prevail...
Eventually.

#CraftyTuesday - Another to TX

And the second to make it to Texas in 2016 was for the same dear friend from last week - her new, and only, granddaughter.

I am really happy with how this design turned out...
It may have started my attraction to dark pink / black combinations...
