Mommy's Day

MBB and I were hanging out on Mommy's Day...
We ended up at the big blue box and filled up part of the truck.
I don't think that either of us planned on spending the day planting stuff in the yard.

Then, I had some visitor's that brought me a pretty cool present.
One that I love...

And evidence (even after a bath) of one of the blessings from the gift.

Got Caught Helping Nana...

He loves to help his Nana with the laundry.
He pulled Papaw's jeans out of the dryer, found a hanger and then tried to figure out how to hang them up.

Love it that he likes spending time helping Nana.

Today...

My oldest grandson is 19 months.
My youngest grandson is 19 days.

I may be nuts - but I think that is pretty cool...
But I am traveling for work, so I can't get this Kodak moment.  :(

Looking South

Isn't it a pretty view?
I was told that it is one of two places in the US where you can look south to see Canada.

True or not...
It's still a pretty view.

Its Been A Week....

...Since I received the shock of my life.
I still don't really think it has set in.

Occasionally, I see a kid between the ages of two and nine and find myself tearing up realizing that we will miss a majority of the boys' lives between those ages.
Yeah - having a rough time with that one.
Don't foresee that changing between now and then.

We are pretty much in limbo as we don't know where we are going or when even.
I am 90% confident that we will end up in Michigan.
I am very unclear on the timing - though I think anywhere from spring 2016 to early 2017...

The only thing 100% sure is that we are moving somewhere...
That the house will be sold.
That we have a huge amount of work to do (though not the same work that we thought we would be doing).

We are looking for a house inspector as this house has never gone through one, even with three owners.
We have fixed a huge amount of bad things over the last six years, but who knows what is left to do.
I would rather know now and have time to fix things, than be surprised when a buyer is about to sign.

Wish us luck.

I am still in shock.

It Might Be A Good Idea...

...To clean out area of the dryer vent that is leaving the house.

MBB had the ladder out to get some things done today and saw that we needed to clean out where the dryer vent exists the house.
Keep in mind that this is our new dryer vent that has been around for less than half of a year.
Needless to say, I was chuckling as the pile pulled out grew larger and larger.

Yes, that pile is pretty large - that is a small white trash can sitting behind the pile.

Looks like I should include that piece of maintenance/cleaning in my future book of things a new homeowner should know (along with my - change the furnace filter... Yes, there is one and if not changed in oh, five years will fall into the furnace)...

Complete

I mentioned a new project here.
Then showed our helper here.

Glad to say that the project is complete and we now have three plants planted (two on the far side and one on this side).  Glad that we will get at least two summers of fruit from this project before we have to say goodbye to this land.

Helping Papaw

Doesn't matter what Papaw does - he has to be right there with him.
If Papaw is digging up dirt, so is he... with a little bit smaller tool, of course.

Another Purge

Finally got around to purging / organizing another area.
This one was simply because I needed to put away a dish...Yeah, that was fun.

I did find a piece of glass from where "something" got broke.
Since the rest of the evidence is gone and this is a cabinet that houses things that I don't use very often.
Yep, no idea what got broke or who did it.

I only got rid of six things (if you count the broken piece of glass - I do), but in my defense - I only went through one shelf of the cabinet...Not the whole thing.  :)
