I Think It Has A Name...

Yep, I think my bug has a name. . .
Food poisoning.

Not sure exactly what caused it, but I am about 80% sure that is what I had this week. I'm glad that it is not contageous and that it is about gone. I am also hopeful that I will never meet this bug again!

I Don't Like Bugs!

I had a nasty bug invade my stomach yesterday afternoon.

After rushing home from work (I might mention here that I missed SB's first freshman basketball game and am NOT happy about that!) and spending all evening and night in bed, I am back at work today.

Wish me luck that this bug has found a home elsewhere as I have much things to do, people to see and events to go to this month!

Gonna be a rough 28 days...

Ever found a great gift for someone and then drive yourself crazy because you have to wait a LONG time to give it to them?

Yep, welcome to my reality! :)

Ramblings...

WOW - it has been awhile since I have posted!!!

I did make it to the gym Friday, Saturday and today, but was so busy doing holiday stuff that I didn't get a chance to get in the blogging mode. The good news is that most of the Christmas cards are in the mail and my Christmas shopping is almost done!
**dunking quickly behind the desk to avoid evil looks**

Never fear - I haven't forgotten all of ya! :)

Yesterday was wonderful!
I got to watch a football team that I had been missing... Yep, my Bengals from last year.
Don't get me wrong, they still have tons of issues, but it was sweet to watch #85 jump up and start recording video of the crowd after a TD.
**Photo from Cincinnati Enquirer...

Yes, we did get a 15 yard penalty for an excessive celebration, but it was oh so worth it!
What did Coach's response? Well, according to
Cincinnati Enquirer:
' Head coach Marvin Lewis was waiting on the sideline for Johnson in what would
become an eventual 35-6 Bengals victory
Lewis had a smile, hug and two-word message for Johnson.
"I understand," Lewis said. "He said it had been a
while." ' (there was a great pic of the smile, but I can't locate it to post here)
It was a great day to be a Bengal's fan!

Houston, I may have a problem...

Yep, I may have a problem...You see - this has been a very weird month! I have felt under the weather a large portion of it and have had a lot of stuff going on the other portion...

And...Well...

I am on the verge of not making it to the gym 12 times this month.
That, my friends, is a problem as my employer PAYS me to go to the gym 12 times a month.

Soooooo, sometime amidst the long weekend and festivities, I need to get to the gym at least once in order to make the 12. That also means that I must make it to the gym EVERY DAY next week - Monday through Friday. **GASP** My body may go on strike!

Is There Anybody Out There?

I've realized that comments get left in waves. I'll go a week and get tons of comments, then all of a sudden...Silence in comment world.

I've also realized that a lot of people are using blog reader software and that has made me think that my readers have reduced drastically. Yep, you guessed it - those readers do not register on my stat counter (that number thing to the left of the blog).

So, with no comments and some visits not registering on the counter, I am really wondering who is all out there reading my ramblings.

A Blog Change...

When I started this blog, it was a way for me to be accountable during my transformation.
If I went to the gym, I blogged. No exceptions.
If I blogged, I had to get to the gym. No exceptions.
This seemed to work for about 16 months.

It doesn't seem to work anymore.

My life is changing.
For example, weekend trips to the gym which were routine in the past (15 minute drive) don't seem to get alone with rising gas prices (45 minute drive).

Things outside of my control change my plans at a moments notice.
Take yesterday, I had an 5:00 appointment at the gym with Sadillac so I posted to the blog and all was well. UNTIL, I locked my keys in the condo at 4:45. The spare key was about 30 minutes away (and MBB didn't get off of work until 5). . .
Yep, I didn't get to the gym last night.

I could have come in today and changed the date of yesterday's blog post, but then I realized that I have been doing that a lot lately. Maybe it's time to disconnect the blog from the exercising.

Don't get me wrong - I will still continue on my path of transformation and I will continue to talk about it here. I think that my exercising may evolve into a combination of cardio at home (yes, I am pricing machines), recreational sports and weight lifting at the gym.

So, posting to the blogs may speed up or slow down depending on my brain rather than on trips to the gym. We shall see!

I will never... OOPS.

Over the years, I have chuckled at raving lunatics cleverly disguised as caring parents who scour stores and literally come to blows over the "gift of the year".

Never would I be searching for the same thing that everyone else was wanting!

Hmmm...Did I really say that? Guess it is time to eat my words.
MBB and I have agreed to buy something IF WE CAN FIND ONE.

I can say that I will not come to blows over this item, but I am driving myself crazy trying to find one. Fun stuff!

What is driving me crazy, you ask?
This thing.

Say What?

On Friday night, Egypt, MBB and I decided to have dinner and then go to a local Comedy Club. We were all in need of a good laugh. . .

The head-liner comedian spent a good amount of time joking about GEDs(herself) versus Associate Degrees (her friend). The jokes were funny, but not the funniest part of the show - until the show was over, that is. The comedian's GED jokes evolved into our waitress still working on her GED.

Why do I say this?

Bill: $8.47 (automatic 18% tip already included)
Payment: $10.00 (change request - she was worthy of a tip, but not 18%+)
Change: $1.25

I'm still shaking my head over that one!

Dang Bugs...

The kind that cause coughing, sneezing and all of that fun stuff - not the crawling, creepy kind.

I've been fighting some nastiness for a few weeks now. I finally lost the battle Saturday evening. I lost the voice, felt like someone had taken sand paper to my throat and started coughing up a lung. Wonderful visual, right?

Sunday found me staying at home trying to recover and today's vacation day became a huddle in bed and get just a few things done day. I did do a light cardio workout, but my plan of "jumping back into the workout scene as hard as I can" is going to be postponed until I get fully recovered.

Wish me luck!

Quotes that I found. . .

Since a bug has decided to make itself at home in me...
And I hadn't taken a break from working out lately - I will only be hitting the gym once this week. . .

On another note - MBB and I are not fighting. Had a few people ask based on the tone of these quotes. To be honest, I wasn't feeling well when I originally wrote this blog post and I was just trying to get something posted. Never fear...All is well in my world with MBB.

Trick or Treating

I never know how much candy to buy for Trick-or-Treating.
In 1996, I believe that I had over three dozen kids ring my doorbell.
Last year, I didn't have any.

So, I set aside some of my candy for SB (and MBB, of course) since she had basketball practice and didn't get to go Trick-or-Treating.
Then, I loaded up my bowl and got ready.

Within the first 30 minutes, I had four visitors.
By then end of hour one, I was at a tally of five.
Lots of candy still in my bowl (I give three or four pieces to each goblin!) which doesn't work with the transformation plan very well!

At 7:50, my doorbell rang.
Two adorable little princesses were standing on my front step.
They each picked out one piece of candy.
I whispered "Take some more"...
I heard their dad say "Don't be greedy"...

Hmmm...
Do I really want any of this candy left?
I whispered again...

The dad looked at his watch, looked at my bowl and laughed as my bowl suddenly went from full to empty in about 10 seconds. :)

I can't decide if those two princesses were bandits or angels in disguise!

I LOVE passing out candy at Halloween!
